What this SDS needs to cover
This page focuses on professional dye creams, developers, colour mixes and salon chemicals. The important starting point is the actual supplied product—not a document downloaded for a material with a similar marketing name.
We review the constituent information, product use and available hazard evidence. Relevant ingredient groups can include oxidizing agents, dye intermediates, alkalis, sensitizers and stabilizers. A finished-product assessment may differ from a raw-material supplier sheet.
For the broader service and document scope, see USA SDS authoring services.
Why the product details matter
Your actual formula
Support the review using component formula, peroxide strength, dye intermediates, pH and package parts. Ingredient-level assumptions should be identified rather than treated as measured finished-product data.
Exposure and safe handling
The user-facing sections must describe credible first aid, handling, personal protection, storage and accidental-release guidance for the supplied material.
Packaging and shipping
Physical properties and packaging are relevant to shipping review. We do not assign a UN number or dangerous-goods class without support.
Who requests the SDS
Customers, marketplaces, distributors and workplaces may request an SDS; acceptance is determined by the recipient and its applicable rules.
Important category-specific classification considerations
Dye base and peroxide developer may require separate documents. Cosmetic product status does not automatically answer every workplace hazard-communication question.
Mixture hazards are evaluated against available ingredient information and any applicable finished-product evidence. Where the data cannot support a firm decision, we identify that gap for technical review rather than manufacture a hazard category.
Documents and details to share
A good authoring brief should contain the items below. You can send proprietary ingredients under a confidentiality arrangement; the information still needs to be sufficient for defensible classification.
- Product-specific evidence: component formula, peroxide strength, dye intermediates, pH and package parts.
- Final trade name, company name, responsible supplier and intended use.
- Ingredient identities and concentrations, with current supplier SDSs where available.
- Available measurements, such as pH, flash point, density or other properties relevant to the product.
- Packaging format, customer or marketplace request, and destination market.
What the SDS authoring service includes
16-section draft
Identification, hazard information, ingredients, first aid, firefighting, exposure controls and the remaining standard SDS sections.
Evidence-led review
Classification work based on supplied composition and documentation, with uncertainties identified.
Supplier review
A draft to verify product name, supplier contacts and intended use, plus in-scope revisions.
Final SDS PDF
A readable, versioned document delivered after technical and supplier-detail review.
How the authoring process works
- Share the final formulation, supplier SDSs and the reason your buyer needs the document.
- We review evidence for physical, health and environmental hazards and flag missing data.
- We draft a product-specific SDS in the agreed 16-section format for supplier review.
- We make in-scope corrections, confirm the final product identifiers and deliver the SDS PDF.
Pricing, revisions and additional scope
The standard international service is $99 per SDS for the agreed English-language authoring scope. Free in-scope revisions cover corrections to supplied information; changes that materially affect composition or classification must be reassessed.
A separately requested written classification rationale is priced at $150. Translations, rush delivery and supplementary regulatory submissions are quoted separately. An SDS itself is not a government certificate, marketplace approval or guarantee of shipping acceptance.
Frequently asked questions
Can I reuse an existing supplier SDS?
If you supply the identical material without formulation changes, start with the original manufacturer’s document and confirm product identity. A new formulated product may need its own assessment.
Will one SDS work for different scents or variants?
Only where every covered SKU remains accurately described, including ingredients, hazards and required disclosures. A SKU comparison is needed.
Can missing ingredient data be estimated?
No. We can document uncertainty and request reliable information, but inventing concentrations or test results is not an appropriate substitute.
Is the $99 fee for testing or registration?
No. The standard fee covers the agreed authoring work, not laboratory testing, government registration or marketplace approval.
Request a product-specific SDS review
Send your formula and any supporting SDSs for professional dye creams, developers, colour mixes and salon chemicals. We can confirm the appropriate documentation scope before drafting.
