Work from TikTok’s notice, not guesswork. Separate document mistakes from restricted-product issues before paying for a new SDS.
First, identify the reason in your seller notice
A TikTok rejection is not automatically an SDS authoring error. The listing may have a product-information mismatch, a generic document, incomplete or unsuitable data, a different language or a restricted-product problem. Start with the exact notification in Seller Center and the specific product listing. TikTok Shop’s official SDS guidance ↗.
Six checks before resubmitting
- Product identity: Does the SDS match the listed trade name and specific finished product?
- Manufacturer and brand: Are the identifiers and responsible-party information consistent with the actual supply chain?
- Composition: Does the document cover the finished mixture, not only one raw ingredient?
- Format and language: Is it the requested 16-section, product-specific SDS in the relevant language?
- Hazard data: Are hazard classifications and physical properties supported and internally consistent?
- Product eligibility: Is the issue a restricted or prohibited item, battery test report requirement or shipping classification instead of a document problem?
What can professional SDS review resolve?
A qualified document review can compare your existing PDF, exact product label, formulation evidence and rejection message. A revision may be suitable if new or corrected data are supported. If no defensible SDS exists for your final formulation, new authoring may be the appropriate task.
What will not fix a rejection?
Changing the date, borrowing a competitor’s SDS, inventing a UN number or copying another fragrance’s hazard statements can introduce inaccuracies. An SDS cannot make a prohibited TikTok Shop category eligible.
How to resubmit after correction
Return to the affected product in Seller Center. Follow the current product-compliance document prompt, upload the corrected and reviewed SDS or battery report when requested, and keep the response to the original rejection notice. TikTok makes the final platform decision. See the full TikTok Shop SDS requirements.

TikTok expects the SDS to match the exact product identity and SKU. A supplier-brand sheet may fail for a genuinely distinct private-label product; obtain a matching manufacturer or qualified-author document. Product-match requirements.
